However, this is not the first film adaptation of 'All Quiet on the Western Front'
The German movie 'All Quiet on the Western Front' created a storm after its release on Netflix. After its release on October 28, the film topped the list of non-English language movies on the OTT platform. All Quiet on the Western Front is based on the novel of the same name by Erich Maria Remarque. Translated by Zahid Hasan from Seva Prakashani in 1986, the book touched the hearts of many readers in Bangladesh. The movie based on that novel set a record at the British Academy Film Awards (BAFTA). Won maximum seven awards.

Such success for a non-English language film is rare in the 75-year history of the BAFTAs. But be that as it may, his prediction was met on the day the nominations were announced, with 'All Quiet on the Western Front' receiving 14 nominations. Last Sunday night, the BAFTA ceremony was held at the Royal Festival Hall in London. Where the anti-war film set a record by winning awards in seven categories, including Best Film, Best Director, and Best Non-English Language Film. No other non-English language film has won so many awards before. Reacting to the award, director Edward Berger said he grew up with the 'responsibility' of telling this story on screen. He thanked the audience for showering his film with love. Apart from this, he also paid respect to those who are fighting in the war in Ukraine.

However, the main motivation behind making the film was the director's daughter Matilda. Reading Remarque's novels at school repeatedly urged his father to make the film.
Another popular movie of last year 'The Banshees of Inisherin' won the second highest four awards of the year. These include Best Supporting Actress (Carrie Condon) and Actor (Barry Keoghan) awards. Austin Butler won the Best Actor for Elvis Presley biopic 'Elvis'. The actor said that since acting in the film, he still could not give up the habit of speaking slowly like Elvis.
