Man City 1: 1 Leipzig Goalless Holland again, City was stopped by Leipzig

Manchester City stumbled in the first leg of the last sixteen of the Champions League. Despite Riyad Mahrez's goal in the field of RB Leipzig, Man City could not leave the field with victory. German club Leipzig saved the possibility of the last eight by stopping City with the goal of Iosco Guardiol. The match ended in a 1-1 draw.

City's star striker Arling Holland could not score recent goals in this match either. The Norwegian striker has had a somewhat uneventful night. Holland scored only 1 goal in the last 5 matches in all competitions.

Leipzig didn't start by folding themselves against City at home. They attack the city in a regular manner. But City's attacks were more organized than Leipzig's. However, the effect of Kevin De Bruyne's absence was quite evident in City's performance. After 14 minutes, City did not get a goal despite a great attack.

In the 17th minute, Riyad Mahrez could not use a free-kick in a convenient place. In the 27th minute, however, Mahrez made no more mistakes. Scored a goal to advance the team. Apart from this goal, Mahrez played great in the first half. He also played a great role in creating City's attack from the right wing. The forward created at least three big chances in the first half. On the other hand, Leipzig were trying to turn around after conceding a goal, but the hosts could not equalize in the first half.

Leipzig were desperate to get back into the match after the break. They shook City's defense with one attack after another. But they were not getting the desired goal. Benjamin Henrichs, a substitute for Leipzig, could not score even after finding the goalkeeper alone in the 55th minute. Leipzig missed another chance in the 63rd minute.

Finally, Leipzig scored a goal in the 70th minute of the match. Leipzig's Croat defender Guardiol headed in a measured cross from Hallastenberg. Despite going close in the 73rd minute, City could not score a goal. Both teams then tried desperately to score, but neither got the winning goal.
